Instant Pot Honey Chicken Drumsticks

This is a flavorful chicken dish made all in the Instant Pot. You only need a few ingredients for this amazing dish.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Chicken Drumsticks
  • Yellow Onions
  • Minced Garlic
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Honey
  • Soy Sauce
  • Chicken Broth
  • Olive Oil

How To Make Instant Pot Honey Chicken Drumsticks

  1. In a large bowl, mix the garlic, salt, pepper, honey, and soy sauce, then add the chicken to marinate. (About 1 hour, really brings the flavor out)
  2. Then in the Instant Pot, add the olive oil and hit the saute and when the oil is hot, add the diced onion, sauce for about 2 minutes, or until the onions are soft. Add the chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Add the chicken and the sauce.
  3. Place the lid on and lock it into place. Set it for high pressure for 30 minutes.
  4. Manually release, plate the chicken onto a platter and spoon the dressing over the chicken, and
  5. Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Can I Use Both Chicken Thighs and Chicken Drumsticks In This Recipe?

Yes, that would work out perfectly. The total weight of the chicken equals 2 pounds.  If you want to add any more than two pounds, you may have to increase the cooking time. 

How Do You Cook Drumsticks In Instapot?

Set the chicken into the pressure cooker and set the Poultry or Manual Setting on High Pressure for 22 minutes. When the pressure cooker time is done, let the pressure naturally release, for 15 minutes, and then do a quick release.

To get even more flavor, place the drumsticks on a foil-lined cookie sheet, brush some sauce on the drumsticks and broil for 2 to 3 minutes.

How Do You Cook Frozen Drumsticks In An Instant Pot?

Start by adding a cup of water to the Instant Pot bowl, and then add the frozen chicken drumsticks on top of the trivet. Set the manual high pressure for 12 minutes.  Then do a natural release. 

If you want extra flavor, brush the drumsticks with BBQ sauce and then place them under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.

Description
